President Bola Tinubu has commiserated with the government and the people of Yobe State over the tragic loss of lives at Mafa in Tarmuwa local government area of the state.

Tinubu, in a statement by presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, also extended his condolences to bereaved families, and condemned the killings as an atrocious and cowardly act of terror by a degraded group of criminals.

The President prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased, speedy recovery for the injured, assuring the people of Yobe State that the perpetrators of this sinister act will have an inevitable encounter with justice.

LEADERSHIP earlier reported that terrorists suspected to be Boko Haram insurgents stormed the Mafa community on Sunday where they unleashed terror by killing what the villagers claimed to be over a 100 people.

Remains of 77 victims of the attack were on Tuesday buried amid tears by the residents who have also appealed to government at all levels to come to the aid of the village by deploying more security operatives and providing succor to the affected people whose homes have been totally razed.
