Nigerian musician Peter Okoye, known as Mr P of the P-Square group, has threatened legal action over allegations made against his late mother on social media.
The controversy followed a viral post on X, which claimed that the singer’s late mother opposed his marriage to his wife, Lola Omotayo-Okoye, on ethnic grounds.
Reacting to the post, Okoye described the claims as false and offensive, demanding an immediate retraction and public apology.
He warned that failure to comply would result in legal action.
“This post about my late mother is unacceptable and deeply hurtful. Take it down and apologise immediately, or I will take legal action,” he said.
Peter Okoye married Lola Omotayo in 2013, and the couple have two children.
