President of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria who is also the Presiding Bishop of the Sword of the Spirit Ministry, Bishop Francis Wale Oke has called on spiritual leaders to come together in seeking the face of God to free the nation of its current challenges.

Bishop Oke also assured that there was hope in the horizon for a new dawn amid the economic and insecurity challenges confronting Nigerians.

While expressing deep concern over the level of insecurity and economic conditions in Nigeria, the Christian organisation noted that the country required God’s divine intervention.

Oke stated this in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital upon his arrival for the ongoing PFN retreat in commemoration of the 40th years of the organisation.

According to the cleric, the dire situation of the country required Christian leaders to come together and seek the face of God for the divine intervention as the federal government continued to work assiduously to fix the country.

“Nigeria needs divine intervention and such can only come from God Almighty. For entrusting the leadership of PFN into our hand, we have the duty to deliver Nigeria. Things cannot continue like this. How God is going to do it is in His hands because He is involved,” he admonished.

The PFN President expressed optimism that the much-needed change yearned for by Nigerians was on the verge of materialising, assuring that the country was well tailored towards greatness, despite seeming uncertainties beclouding the landscape.

“Nigeria will be better. Let us join our hands together and call on God, belief His words and His Prophets and God will shade the light on Nigeria.

“He has said in His words, ‘If my people that are called by my name will humble themselves and seek my face, I will hear from heaven and heal their land.’ Nigeria needs healing and that is why we are here. We will pray and God will hear us and will heal Nigeria,” he stressed.

Explaining the theme of the conference: “PFN Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”, Bishop Oke said it was a reflection of Nigeria and “what God has done, what God is doing and what God is going to do.”

He stressed that the PFN was helping Nigeria to build a better society through prayers, fasting, preaching the word of God and living a life of righteousness, as well as calling the people to repentance, even as he blamed iniquities for the current state of the country.

“Violent killings, banditry, kidnapping are evil and are the works of the devil. PFN is bringing the light of God. The Bible says that when the light shines in darkness, darkness cannot comprehend. I want to assure you that there is light for Nigeria,” he noted.
