Pharmacists Hold Business Summit

Association of Community Pharmacists of Nigeria, ACPN, Abuja Branch held her Maiden Edition of her Business Summit in Abuja on Wednesday with a call on members to contribute meaningfully toward the growth of community pharmacy in the country.

The summit which was well attended by members across Abuja and it’s environs had the theme, “Business Survival In Crisis Environment”.

Speaking while giving his welcome address, the National Chairman of ACPN, Pharm. Adewale Oladigbolu described the summit as very timely one and urged participants to synergies, share ideas and collaborate with others to ensure they derive maximum benefit from the summit.

Oladigbolu urged the pharmacists to always ensure that they science based approach in their practice so as to ensure that the well-being of the people is guaranteed.

While calling on members to ensure high ethical practices, the Chairman explained that members equally need to manage their business properly in order to succeed.

“In other words we need to survive in the business world in order to survive as a community pharmacists practitioner as well. They need to know how to keep their books, how to assess capital, what to do with their capital among other things” he opined.

He maintained that business environment is very critical for the survival of members who practice Community Pharmacy in Nigeria emphasing that these are some of the vital issues that will be discussed during 3-day Conference.

On his part, the ACPN FCT Branch Chairman, Emejo Amadeh, explained that the summit was to help pharmacists to think outside the box in order to survive the economic crisis facing the country.

 “We are here today for a business summit to teach pharmacists how to think outside the box with disruptive ideas so as to enlarge our horizons and do exploits in other fields of endeavour. As a professional. We’re well-trained but underutilised based on our community pharmacy cycle, and after the summit, we will engage other areas of opportunity that are valuable within our environment,” he said.
