Cerebral musician, pianist and musicologist, Durotimi Ikujenyo will be sixty-six years old on Friday, September 2nd, 2022 and in the spirit of celebration, the music producer will be serenading his fans, friends and family at the Bogobiri Rooftop.
Full of gratitude to the God almighty, the producer and philosopher simply referred to as Duro, says the vissicitudes and unpredictability of life is a proof to thank Olodumare and take life easy as man meanders this journey of life full of good and bad.
“Having lost two persons in my family and visited them at Ijebu, Ogun State, I am grieving but at same time full of gratitude for a life well spent on earth for Deji and Debo Osinowo, mu first cousins. I am 66 years on September 2 and I thank God for another year and opportunity,” he added.
Duro who will be performing at Bogobiri Rooftop in Ikoyi on Friday evening, will feature
the saxophonist, Seun Olota.
Bogobiri located at Maitama, Sule, Falomo in
Ikoyi, Lagos is one of the serene and icomic places for live music in Lagos.
Duro Ikujenyo who was part of Fela Kuti & Egypt 80 Band, has recorded and produced 7 albums, the latest being ‘Black and
White Oha’ and it was released on Africa Day 2022 at the Bogobiri House.
Duro Ikujenyo formed his band in 1985 drawing on philosophical space in the 1950 and awareness from the age of Pisces to Aquarius. He believes that a new
age of Aquarius will move the world into a state of global peace, harmony and
end all forms of oppression, poverty, exploitation, especially in the developing world.
