Key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi State have agreed to put aside their differences in a renewed bid to rebuild and strengthen the party ahead of future political contests in 2027 election cycle.
The high-level meeting, held on Thursday and revealed by the Yobe State governor’s media aide, Mamman Mohammed, was convened under the chairmanship of his principal, Governor Mai Mala Buni.
Also, in attendance was the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Kabiru Masari, who played a central role in facilitating the reconciliation talks.
Prominent political figures from Bauchi State chapter of APC present at the meeting included former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara; Senator Umar Shehu Buba; former Governors Isa Yuguda and Mohammed Abubakar; Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, and two former deputy governors of the state.
According to a statement signed by Mamman Mohammed, the Director General, Press and Media Affairs to Governor Buni, the closed-door meeting saw all the stakeholders embrace peace and commit to working together to restore unity within the Bauchi State APC.
“The stakeholders embraced each other, expressing delight for the opportunity to sort out their differences with a clear understanding to work for the unity of the party,” the statement read.
