The 16th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has made a bold appearance in full traditional regalia to preside over his routine court session at the palace despite siege being laid to the Palace by security operatives on Friday.

The Emir, accompanied by the palace aides, maintained his composure as he carried out the proceedings within the barricaded palace walls.

The Kano State Police Command was yet to provide an explanation for the siege, which has heightened speculation about the ongoing tension about the royal rumble in the state.

Also, there was no official word from the Kano Emirate Council regarding the Emir’s earlier-scheduled royal visit to Bichi for a planned event. Questions linger over whether he will proceed with the engagement as planned.

Reports from the Government House revealed that Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf is currently out of the country on an official trip to India, leaving the situation without immediate political resolution.

The development has sparked widespread curiosity and speculation among residents and observers, with many questioning whether the unfolding events signify a larger political standoff.
