The deceased, Hajiya Asiya Muhammad Gauyama, was the mother of Prof. Hafsat Umar Ganduje, wife of the APC national chairman and immediate-past governor of Kano State.

Embattled 15th Emir of Kano Bayero was represented by his Chief of Staff, Alhaji Ahmadu Ado Bayero.

Late Hajia Gauyama was buried at the Tarauni cemetery in Kano metropolis.
