The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully dismantled a notorious armed robbery and car-snatching syndicate following a series of coordinated operations across Abuja and beyond.

Acting on credible intelligence and digital forensic reconstruction, the Command arrested four suspects and recovered six stolen vehicles alongside over ₦15 million in cash from the suspects.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the FCT Command, SP Josephine Adeh, confirmed the developments in an official statement dated Tuesdsy, December 2, 2025.

She said the initial breakthrough came with recoveries made by the Jabi, Gwagwalada, and Mabushi Police Divisions, which retrieved three stolen vehicles.

She added that the Command’s elite Scorpion Squad expanded the investigation and arrested additional suspects and recovering four more vehicles, as well as large sum of money.

The recovered vehicles included a black 2008 Toyota Prado SUV (Reg. No: RSH 967 JJ) from Jabi Division, a grey 2009 KIA Optima (Reg. No: RMY 88 AA) from Mabushi Division, and a grey Toyota Corolla from Gwagwalada Division. The Scorpion Squad recovered an additional grey Toyota Corolla (Reg. No: JUX 890 AA), an ash-coloured Toyota Camry (Reg. No: APR 459 AE), and a black Toyota Corolla (Reg. No: 578 AA).

Among the suspects arrested were Dalhatu Bashiru, an ex-convict, Nwadigo Emmanuel, Uchenna Kalu, and the principal receiver, Alhaji Jazuli Adamu. Alhaji Jazuli was apprehended in Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State with ₦15,280,000 cash reportedly meant to facilitate the resale of the latest batch of stolen vehicles.

Further investigations revealed that Alhaji Jazuli collaborated with an accomplice, Alhaji Abdulkarim Gabeida Ibrahim, a citizen of the Niger Republic, who managed the resale of stolen cars across the border. Ibrahim remains at large, with ongoing efforts to bring him into custody.
