PICTORIAL: Funeral Service For Late Nollywood Actor, Junior Pope, Begins In Enugu

The funeral service for Nollywood actor, John Odonwodo, popularly known as Junior Pope, has commenced at St. Peter’s Catholic Parish in Ukehe, Enugu State, on Friday.

Junior Pope, who tragically passed away at the age of 43, died alongside four others on April 10 when their boat capsized on the Anam River in Anambra State. The group was returning from a movie location when the accident occurred.

In a statement released by his family, it was revealed that the actor would be laid to rest on May 17 in his hometown of Uwala Abaka, Ukehe, located in Nsukka, Igboetiti Local Government Area of Enugu State.

The funeral service, attended by family members, friends, and colleagues from the Nollywood industry, saw an outpouring of grief and tributes. Junior Pope was celebrated not only for his contributions to the film industry but also for his vibrant personality and dedication to his craft.

“He was a beacon of light in Nollywood, bringing energy and passion to every role he played,” a close colleague shared. “His untimely death is a significant loss to us all.”
