IGP Egbetokun extolled the remarkable life and career of former IGP Atta, whom the NPF described as a towering figure in the annals of Nigerian policing whose wisdom, discipline, and visionary leadership helped shape the Force during a critical era of national development.

According to a statement signed by the Police spokesman, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Monday, Atta was described “As one of the most distinguished elder statesmen in the policing community, IGP Atta’s contributions to nation-building, public service, and institutional integrity remain a reference point in law enforcement history.

“The Nigeria Police Force honours his dedication, noble legacy, and continued inspiration to generations of police officers. His journey stands as a testament to enduring service and patriotic commitment.”

He added that the entire Police family joins the nation in wishing IGP Aliyu Ibrahim Atta continued good health, peace, and fulfilment as he celebrates this milestone age of 88.
