The SPS, comprising 60 adequately trained police personnel, was launched on Thursday as part of the Command’s efforts to strengthen security in schools across the state.

The squad will conduct robust patrols around primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions, ensuring the protection of students, teachers, and school facilities.

The launch of the SPS coincided with the one-year anniversary of the State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Usaini Gumel, in office.

In his address, CP Gumel highlighted the Command’s achievements over the past one year, including the profiling and rehabilitation of 623 repentant thugs, the arrest and prosecution of over 3,000 suspected criminals, and the recovery of various weapons, stolen vehicles, and drugs.
