The Kano State Police Command has recovered seven stolen vehicles with the aid of the Electronic Central Motor Registry (e-CMR) platform.
The vehicles, stolen from various states, were successfully returned to their rightful owners.
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa said the stolen vehicles were tracked and recovered at different in Kano, Kogi, and Abuja.
He said the recovered vehicles include a white Howo truck, stolen from Riruwai, Doguwa LGA, Kano, on January 17, 2025, and recovered in Lokoja, Kogi State.
Kiyawa added that the vehicles include a black 2013 Honda Accord, stolen from Abuja on January 18, 2025, and found at Airport Road, Kano.
Also is a white Mercedes Benz GLK, stolen from Magwan Road, Kano, on January 27, 2025, and recovered in Hotoro Quarters, Kano as well as a red Toyota Corolla LE, stolen from Abuja on January 30, 2025, and recovered in Kano.
Other is a black Toyota Camry, stolen from Kaduna on January 27, 2025, and retrieved in Kano.
A white Toyota Hilux, stolen from Katsina on February 15, 2025, and found at Ring Road Bypass, Kano.
A dark ash Pontiac Vibe, stolen from Katsina on February 15, 2025, and recovered at Ring Road Bypass, Kano.
The police emphasised the efficiency of the e-CMR platform in tracking stolen vehicles, urging vehicle owners to register on https://cmris.npf.gov.ng to enhance security.
“This platform has proven to be an effective tool in combating vehicle theft, and we remain committed to leveraging technology to ensure the safety of lives and property in Kano,” the statement read.
The Command also encouraged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities.
