Vice President Kashim Shettima and a host of prominent political figures arrived in Kano on Saturday to attend the wedding ceremony of Engineer Rabiu Kwankwaso’s daughter.
Among the notable figures, former President Olusegun Obasanjo and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar who arrives in the state were received at the Aminu Kano International Airport by Kano State governor, Abba Yusuf and his deputy, Aminu Gwarzo.
Similarly, the Katsina State governor, Umar Dikko Radda and other dignitaries were also welcomed by the governor and his deputy before proceeding to the Emir of Katsina’s Palace for the ceremony.
The wedding, taking place at the Emir’s Palace, brought together notable personalities across party lines, including representatives of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
LEADERSHIP reports seven former governors had arrived Kano on Friday to celebrate with the Kwankwaso family.
Among them are Lucky Igbinedion (Edo State), Mahmud Shinkafi (Zamfara State), Isa Yuguda (Bauchi State), Victor Attah (Akwa Ibom State), Chief Achike Udenwa (Imo State), and Adamu Aliero (Kebbi State).
Also, prominent Islamic clerics that also joined the celebration, including Sheikh Bala Lau, the national leader of the Izala movement and Sheikh Kabir Gombe.
