President Mahama arrived at the State House at approximately 2:30pm on Thursday, marking his first official visit to Nigeria since his inauguration on 7 January, 2025.
The meeting is expected to focus on deepening bilateral ties between the two West African nations, with discussions likely to cover trade, regional security and economic cooperation.
Talks are also expected to include regional developments within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), where both leaders have pledged to advance stability and democratic governance.
Mahama previously visited President Tinubu shortly after winning presidential election in December 2024.
At the time, the Nigerian leader welcomed Mahama’s return to office, expressing confidence in his leadership to promote regional peace and collaboration.
