A plane carrying 58 passengers and four crew members yesterday crashed in the Brazilian State of Sao Paulo.
Social media footage reportedly showed the plane descending vertically, spiraling as it fell, while search was on to ascertain the number of casualties from the crash.

The Voepass airline confirmed that the twin-engine turboprop plane was flying from Cascavel in the southern state of Paraná to the main airport in São Paulo city when it crashed in the town of Vinhedo.
“There is still no confirmation of how the accident occurred or the current situation of the people on board,” the airline said in a statement yesterday evening.

Local authorities said the plane crashed on a residential building while the police and fire services have come to the crash site and hospitals have been called upon to get ready for urgent medication.

The president of Brazil, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, has reportedly observed a minute’s silence while presiding over an event.

The Brazilian leader said the crash was “Very sad” and expressed solidarity to the families and friends of the victims.
