Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  in Plateau State, Hon. Rufus Bature, has reiterated the party’s commitment to a level playing ground  for all aspirants, especially former PDP members in  2027 general elections.

Bature, who was recently re-elected through consensus for another four years said all members have equal rights and privileges.

“By provision of the new electoral act, we can elect our candidates or aspirants by way of direct primaries or consensus,” he said.

Speaking to newsmen in Jos yesterday, he added, “If we do not agree on a consensus, definitely we will have to do the direct primaries. Therefore, as a party, we will create a level playing ground for every individual that want to aspire to any electives position.”

On some individuals who expressed dissatisfaction with the conduct of the recent state congress which produced  leaders through consensus, Bature, said in an exercise like that, there cannot  be 100% acceptance.

“Normally, in a consensus, you find people that are disgruntled. But the APC has the mechanism to resolve any challenge that comes up as a result of the conduct of the congress.

“We believe that at the end of the day everybody will feel satisfied that he’s been carried along,” he said.
