The launch is a major step towards Coursera’s aim to help learners worldwide master the right skills to grow their careers. While replacing the previous audit experience, just as the new model gives learners access to the first module of nearly every course on Coursera for free with graded assignments, video content, and AI-powered support features like Coursera Coach, when available within the course. Hence, this deeper, more interactive preview allows learners to explore content meaningfully before committing to a full course.

Meanwhile, Coursera’s new localised pricing in Nigeria includes Professional Certificates and Specialisations starting at $20/month (up to 60 per cent less expensive), Coursera Plus (Monthly) subscription at $24 (60 per cent less expensive) and Coursera Plus (Annual) subscription at $160 (60 per cent less expensive).

Speaking, CEO of Coursera, Greg Hart said, “as one of our fastest-growing and most engaged learner markets, Nigeria is at the heart of our mission. The new course preview experience makes learning more engaging from day one, offering learners a richer way to explore content, while our localized pricing ensures it’s more accessible nationwide,”

Similarly, learners will also have free access to Community Impact Courses that address urgent social needs such as mental health, refugee support, and public health, even as eligible learners can continue to apply for financial aid.
