Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN), Society for the Performing Arts in Nigeria (SPAN) and Silverbird are partnering with a new reality TV show, Stars & Legends to train and empower young Nigerian musicians.
An initiative of Lukrush Records, Rebellion Obsession Fashion and Baroque Works Studios owned by US-based music producer Samuel Peterson, Stars & Legends is targeted at promoting local talents in music, dance and modelling from across the country and beyond, with focus on its three-point agenda of talent development, show biz and entrepreneurship. It has the overarching aim of granting these talents exposure to international entertainment experts who will guide them to becoming eventual stars.
“In order to strengthen our core in Nigeria, we felt the need to get the support of PMAN and SPAN to endorse our artistes and get Silverbird to promote the reality TV show. We believe that this alliance will create a mutual relationship with industry stakeholders in Nigeria and aid our mission of supporting artistes and talents alike and giving them the international exposure that is required,” said CEO Lukrush Records, Peterson.
PMAN President, Pretty Okafor believes that the international-based show not only offers the artistes opportunity to see how PMAN produces and supports artistes to the international space, but is an alliance that will strengthen relations with the United States.
On its part, SPAN congratulated Lukrush Records for its contribution to empowering and transforming Nigeria’s creative industry. “We urge other companies and individuals in the creative industry to emulate the exemplary work of Lukrush and join hands with us towards building a vibrant Nigerian performing arts sector,” said SPAN founder, Sarah Boules.
