Polaris Bank Offers Free Breast Cancer Screening For 100 Women

Polaris Bank has launched a nationwide free breast cancer screening initiative for 100 women to mark World Cancer Day on February 4, 2026.

The initiative, implemented in partnership with its NGO partner, Care Organisation and Public Enlightenment (C.O.P.E.), aims to promote cancer awareness, early detection, and preventive care as part of the bank’s community health and social impact efforts.

In addition to the breast cancer screening, Polaris Bank is supporting an ongoing free prostate cancer screening programme for 250 men aged 40 years and above across Nigeria. The prostate cancer screening is being conducted at the Men’s Clinic, 18 Commercial Avenue, Sabo, Yaba, Lagos.

According to the bank, both interventions are designed to improve access to preventive healthcare and encourage early diagnosis, which remains critical in reducing cancer-related deaths.

Speaking on the initiative, the Group Head, Brand Management and Corporate Communications at Polaris Bank, Rasheed Bolarinwa, said early detection was one of the most effective tools in the fight against cancer. He noted that the bank was removing financial barriers to screening while bringing essential health services closer to communities.

The flagship breast cancer screening exercise is scheduled for Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the C.O.P.E Centre, 39B Adeniyi Jones Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos, between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The screening will be conducted by trained health professionals and volunteers, and participants will also receive education on cancer prevention, self-examination and follow-up care.

Participation in the breast cancer screening is open to women who are Polaris Bank account holders, subject to pre-registration and selection based on early and confirmed submissions. Registration is available through the official link: bit.ly/BCS2026.

The bank also stated that educational materials, community engagement activities and digital awareness campaigns would accompany the screenings to reinforce messages on healthy lifestyles, early detection and regular medical check-ups.

Polaris Bank encouraged men to support the health of their families by urging eligible female relatives to participate, while also inviting men aged 40 and above to take advantage of the ongoing free prostate cancer screening at the Men’s Clinic in Yaba, Lagos.
