The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged theft of an official Toyota Hilux vehicle belonging to the Bauchi Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Nafiu Habib, the suspects were arrested following a report of criminal conspiracy and theft lodged at the ‘B’ Divisional Police Headquarters, Bauchi, on December 12, 2025.
According to the statement, one Ibrahim Markus, a private security supervisor with Royal Security Guard Limited and resident of Wuntin Dada, Bauchi, reported that two security guards deployed to the L-PRES office along Adamu Jumba Road, GRA, Bauchi, allegedly conspired and absconded with one of the organisation’s official vehicles.
The complainant disclosed that he received a distress call from the organisation’s Coordinator on December 11, 2025, alerting him to the disappearance of the vehicle.
The suspects were identified as 19-year-old Yarda John of GRA, and Jessy Danjuma, also 19, a resident of State Low-Cost, both in Bauchi.
SP Habib stated that the stolen vehicle, a white Toyota Hilux with registration number 03B-04 BA, was recovered at the Bauchi Club, GRA, following prompt police action.
He added that the suspects were also arrested during the operation, stating that the value of the vehicle had yet to be ascertained.
The Bauchi Police Spokesperson added that the investigation was ongoing and the suspects will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
