The Yobe State Police Command has arrested two suspected notorious kidnappers in a significant breakthrough to combat crimes and criminalities in the state.
A statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdukarim, reads, “Dapchi Divisional Police Headquarters at about 0500hrs, April 9, 2025, apprehended the suspects who are members of a gang specialising in kidnapping for ransom, demanding with menace, operating in Dapchi and Tarmuwa Local Government Areas.”
According to a statement, the suspects, identified as Babaro Baushe, 40, and Umaru Dau’a, 25, were apprehended and are from Askuwari Village, Tarmuwa local government area of the state.
He said that the suspects had been linked to several crimes, including an attack on Badegana Village on November 21, 2024, in which the gang launched an attack on a victim’s house, resulting in a fatality.
