The Katsina State Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the kidnapping of Hauwa’u Adamu, the mother of renowned Hausa singer, Dauda Kahutu, popularly known as Rarara.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, June 28, 2024.

In a statement released on Friday, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, Police Command’s spokesperson, detailed the events leading to the arrests. “Today, Friday, June 28, 2024, at about 0130 hrs, information was received at the Danja Divisional Police Headquarters that some suspected kidnappers silently invaded the residence of one Hauwa’u Adamu, female, age 75 years, of Kahutu village, Danja LGA, Katsina State and kidnapped her,” the statement read.

Following the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Danja Police Division led a team of operatives to the scene in an effort to apprehend the culprits and secure the safe release of the victim. During the investigation, two suspects were detained for questioning.

“The two suspects are currently being interrogated by the authorities. Further developments will be communicated in due course as the investigation proceeds,” Aliyu added.

Rarara, a prominent political praise singer for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), gained fame for his role in mobilising support for former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015 and afterwards, and incumbent President Bola Tinubu, as well as other notable figures in the North.
