Police Arrest 28 Suspected Criminals In Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested 28 suspects and recovered dangerous weapons as well as illicit drugs, following a three-day clearance operations carried out within the Kano metropolis.

The operation, which took place from Saturday, July 12 to Monday, July 14, 2025, was carried out under “Operation Kukan Kura,” a community-driven initiative aimed at tackling thuggery and other related crimes.

 

Spokesperson of the Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa said the operations yielded significant results with no reported cases of mobile phone robberies or theft across the state during the period.

“The success of “Operation Kukan Kura” is a testament to the Command’s resolve to engage with the community and work collaboratively to prevent and control crimes.

“The Kano State Police Command appreciates the support and cooperation of members of the public and urges everyone to continue reporting suspicious activities to the nearest Police Station or through our emergency contact numbers,” the statement read.

Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori commended the officers for their dedication and urged them to sustain efforts in safeguarding lives and property across the state.
