Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested suspected gunrunners who manufacture guns and supply them to suspected armed robbers and kidnappers in the state. The police spokesman Bright Edafe disclosed this in a statement yesterday.
This is related to the earlier recovery of a fabricated AK 47 revolver rifle on June 8, 2024 where three people were also arrested.
They are Tega Dierunaba, Chibiuke Anuforo Cosmas and Sunday Moses Pam. Tega Dierunaba, 44years of Ororokpe community in Okpe LGA Delta State, a resident of Enehren area of Warri Town, Chibiuke Anuforo Cosmas, 42years of Orlu town in Nkwerre LGA, Imo State, a resident of Musheshe Cold-Room Industrial Area, Enehren Road Warri, a distributor of arms supplied and Sunday Moses Pam, 36years of Von community in Jos South LGA Plateau State, a resident of Oka close street, in Enehren Warri, Delta State.
Following an intensive intelligence-led investigation by operatives on CP’s special assignment with base in Ughelli, the team led by ASP Julius Robinson acting on the directive of the commissioner of police, Delta State, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, on July 16, 2024, arrested the trio.
