Police Arrest Man For Allegedly Assaulting Wife In Ekiti

Operatives of Oke-Ila Division of Ekiti State Police Command have arrested a man, one Jimoh Abdulraman, for allegedly assaulting his wife.

The man was accused of brutally assaulting his wife named Mrs Akintunde Bidemi Taiwo, a resident of NOVA area in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.

The incident, according to the Command’s Police Public Relations Office, SP Sunday Abutu, occurred on Saturday, February 15, 2026.

Abutu said, “Upon a tip-off and after watching the viral video of the victim, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, directed the DPO Oke-Ila to immediately identify the culprit, arrest him and commence a thorough investigation.

“The operatives from Oke-Ila Division swung into action and arrested the suspect”.

The police spokesman said the case has been transferred to the Gender Based Violence (GBV) Unit of the State CID for discreet investigation and arraignment accordingly.
