Police Arrest Officer Involved In Lagos Club Shooting

Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have arrested an officer involved in the shooting incident at Lagos Club in Victoria Island, Lagos last Wednesday which left two people hospitalised.

The Force PRO, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the arrest, said the police officer involved (name not given) has been taken into custody and the police authorities are investigating his involvement in the incident.

Adejobi said the inspector-general of police, IGP Usman Baba, described the circumstances surrounding the incident as unbelievable.

He has, however, “condemned in the strongest terms the unfortunate incident.

“Consequently, the IGP has directed the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Abiodun Alabi, to carry out a thorough investigation into the matter and forward his report as urgent as possible for further action.”
