The suspect, Nnamdi Stanley Chibuike, of 24 Ogbeowele Quarters, behind General Hospital, Asaba, was arrested on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at about 8:45 a.m., by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) during a routine stop-and-search operation at Koka roundabout, Asaba.

The operatives reportedly became suspicious of Chibuike’s behaviour and subjected him to a thorough search, during which a fabricated Beretta pistol was discovered neatly hidden inside a loaf of bread.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Abaniwonda Olufemi, commended the officers for their vigilance and professionalism, describing the arrest as a testament to the Command’s sustained intelligence-led and proactive policing approach.

“This discovery underscores our unwavering resolve to identify, arrest, and prosecute criminal elements regardless of the sophistication of their tactics,” CP Abaniwonda stated.
