Police Arrest Tricyclist For Allegedly Defiling 4 Minors

Operatives of Adamawa State Police Command attached to State Intelligence Department (SID) have arrested a 22-year-old Habubakar Umar for allegedly defiling four underage children.

Police image maker in the state, SP Suleiman Nguroje who disclosed this said the suspect was arrested on Wednesday May 14, 2025.

The suspect who is a resident of Rumde Baru in Yola North Local Government Area and a commercial tricyclist allegedly had sexual intercourse with male children between the age of 8 and 9 age.

SP Nguroje said that the arrest followed a complaint from the victims’ parent who reported that the suspect was hired to be conveying their children to school.

He said the suspect took the advantage by luring the kids and had unnatural affection with them.

The police spokesman said the suspect has since confessed to committing the crime, blaming the devil for his action.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Dankombo Morris has condemned the act and directed the case to be diligently investigated and charged to court without delay.

Nguroje said the command remained committed to protecting the rights of children and urged parents and guardians to be vigilant and report people of suspicious character to the nearest police stations.
