The IGP stressed that the police uniform is a symbol of trust and should not be used to oppress the public.

Represented by the assistant inspector-general of police, AIG Auwal Mohammed, while reviewing the passing out parade of the 2022/2023 batch B held at the college, urged the recruits to uphold the rule of law, act with compassion, and prioritise the safety and peace of the community they serve.

He asked the recruits to respect human rights and dignity of all citizens, and to judiciously use their authority, reminding them that being a police officer is not just a job, but a sacred duty to serve and protect the community.

He announced that President Bola Tinubu has approved the recruitment of an additional 30,000 constables to strengthen the police force and enhance security.
