Police Bust Armed Robbery, Kidnap Syndicate In Rivers

Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have busted a syndicate involved in armed robbery and kidnapping, leading to the arrest of four suspected members of the group.

The suspects, who were arrested in Bori, headquarters of Khana local government area of Rivers State, include Solomon Chris, ,26; Fabulous John, 26; Wisdom Kalongo, 30, and Wisdom Samuel, Male, 33 years.

The police public relations officer, Grace Iringe-Koko, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday, said the items recovered from the suspects included one locally-made revolver pistol, one live ammunition, a quantity of hard drugs (loud), criminal charms and one ash-coloured Toyota Sienna vehicle with Registration number. BNY-758FS.

The statement reads in part: “The Rivers State Police Command has recorded another major breakthrough in its ongoing fight against violent crimes, following the arrest of four suspected members of an armed robbery and kidnapping syndicate.

“On 8th August 2025, at about 11:30hrs, a team of operatives from Bori Division, while on routine patrol along Nkpee Street, Bori, acted swiftly upon receiving a distress call regarding the suspicious activities of unknown persons in the area.

The operatives apprehended the following suspects:1.Solomon Chris (Male, 26 years), 2. Fabulous John (Male, 26 years),3. Wisdom Kalongo (Male, 30 years) and 4. Wisdom Samuel (Male, 33 years)

 

“Items recovered from the suspects include: One locally-made revolver pistol, One live ammunition, Quantity of hard drugs (loud), Criminal charms and One ash-coloured Toyota Sienna vehicle, Registration No. BNY-758FS.

 

“The suspects are currently in custody, and investigation is ongoing to apprehend other fleeing members of the gang and recover more of their operational weapons.

 

“The Rivers State Police Command remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and calls on members of the public to continue to provide timely and useful information to the police.”
