Kwara State commissioner of police, Paul Odama, yesterday led a patrol team to the troubled Alagbado and Gaa- Osibi communities in Ilorin South and Ilorin West local government areas where the incidents of abduction of residents have become rampant in recent times.
LEADERSHIP had reported how the helpless residents fled their homes for fear of being kidnapped by gunmen who had in the past few weeks laid siege on the communities.
Odama, who visited the areas to assess the security situation and strategy to be emplaced to rebuild the confidence of the residents was joined on the patrol by representatives of the communities.
He urged the residents not to panic or relocate from the areas, assuring that, “the place is now safe and peaceful for people to live and do their businesses without any fear of attack and intimidation.”
He intimated them about what the police had done and still doing to stop the incursions of criminal elements into the fast-developing communities.
