Niger State police command has deployed 9,863 personnel to ensure peaceful and free governorship and state assembly elections across the state.
Those deployed include 6,505 police personnel and 3,358 men of other security agencies for effective security during the election.
The Assistant Inspector General of police election Zone 7, Aishetu Abubakar made this disclosure while briefing newsmen at the command headquarters in Minna yesterday.
She assured that all lawful means would be explored to ensure security during the election in the state.
She said briefs were received during interaction with officers, and visits to the Independent National Electoral Commission on the level of preparedness and expressed satisfaction.
The AIG expressed optimism on security before, during and after the polls.
She maintained that security agencies had been directed to exhibit a high sense of professionalism in their conduct and urged the people to conduct themselves peacefully and maturely.
Aishetu advised political party stakeholders to conduct themselves in line with the Electoral Act and guidelines.
