Police Deploy More Security In Adamawa

The Adamawa police command has deployed more personnel to ensure a hitch-free crossing overnight and during the New Year celebrations in Adamawa State.

The Commissioner of Police, Morris Dankwambo, said heavy police presence would be seen  facilitating essential activities such as stop and search exercises, traffic controls, vehicular patrols and part of the security measures,

The command also announced a traffic diversion plan that will be implemented around the Unity flyover 31/12/2024 from 1600 hrs.

Those travelling from Aliyu Mustapha International Airport to Yola township are advised to divert from Adamawa investment junction through Target junction up to Ribadu Square.

Similarly, those heading to Numan Road from Dougirei follow Zoo Road down Tsohon Kasuwa through the Jimeta Ultra Modern market.

Other sister security agencies at strategic locations around the city and the event ground will support the event, which is slated to take a unity flyover today.

The CP advised public members to cooperate with the security measures by keeping their vehicles away from the event area.

The command reiterates its dedication to maintaining peace and security and calls on the public to join hands in making the cross-over-night celebration a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
