The disbursement, which took place at the FCT command is in line with the fulfillment of the inspector general of police, IGP Alkali Baba’s family welfare insurance scheme policy.

The cheques were presented to the next of kins of 29 deceased police officers of the rank of assistant superintendent of police, inspector, sergeant and a civilian staff attached to the command between 2020 and 2021.

The commissioner of police FCT, CP Babaji Sunday, while extending his condolence to the beneficiaries, noted that the money presented was in no way a payment for the lives and services of their loved ones but a way to show them that the Force remembers the labour of their loved ones in life and death.
He urged them to make meaningful use of the benefits to make life better, covering up for the absence of their benefactors.
