This was disclosed in a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, on Sunday.

According to Kiyawa, the incident occurred on May 31 at approximately 6 pm after a distress call to alert the police about the planned attack on the APC chairman’s house around Chiranchi junction in Gwale local government area of the state.

“It was reported that the thugs, armed with dangerous weapons, were pelting people with stones and attempting to enter the APC chairman’s house,” Kiyawa stated.

“Responding swiftly, a team led by the Divisional Police Officer of Gwale Division intervened, effectively preventing the invasion and restoring order in the area.

“Although no arrests were made at the scene, investigations revealed that the incident stemmed from a clash between two rival gangs. The masterminds behind the disturbance have been identified as Abdul’Yassar Alias Jonny, Birbiri, and Jinjiri Aljan.” the statement reads.

Kiyawa reassured residents that the Command is fully in control of the situation, having implemented security measures to ensure that people can go about their daily activities without fear for their lives or property.

“We are appealing to all law-abiding and peace-loving residents to volunteer timely and credible information on the movement of suspected characters in their midst for prompt security actions,” Kiyawa added.
