The Kogi State Police Command has inducted 565 newly trained combat-ready constables after an intensive weapons and combat operations course that commenced on April 13, 2026.

Speaking at the Police Headquarters Lokoja on Monday, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Nasir Kankarofi, congratulated the graduands for the successful training and induction.

He said the rigorous training was approved by the Inspector General of Police (I-G), Mr Tunji Disu, and delivered to produce agile, smart and combat-ready officers to tackle crime, banditry, terrorism and other vices across the state.

Kankarofi also commended Gov. Ahmed Ododo for his unwavering support to the Command during training and operations.

Kankarofi urged the graduands to remain dedicated, respect human rights, and practice community driven, democratic policing.

The commissioner appreciated instructors, medical personnel, transport department and Police Mobile Force trainers for producing officers he described as “smart-looking and battle-ready.”

Kankarofi said that  the passing out of the constables marked a new chapter in crime fighting in Kogi State.

“The days of the criminal are numbered. These young, able-bodied constables are ready to take the war to the criminals, as we have always done,” he stated.

He urged the public to support security agencies with timely intelligence and reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safer streets and secure communities under the leadership of the I-G and President Bola Tinubu.
