The Lagos State Police Command said the Lead Pastor of the House on the Rock Church, Pastor Paul Adefarasin, is currently being interrogated for allegedly brandishing a gun-like object on TikToker Car Spotter, in Lagos.

Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), CSP Benjamin Hundeyin who disclosed this to newsmen on Tuesday, said Pastor Adefarasin was being interrogated by the Command’s detective at its state headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos.

“No one is above the law, Pastor Paul Adefarasin has turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja and is currently being interrogated by detectives who have commenced investigation on the case since a video surfaced online showing the pastor holding a gun-like object against another road user, while driving in an unregistered vehicle,” Hundeyin said.

The Lagos police image maker noted that the outcome of the investigation will be made public.

Meanwhile, the incident went viral in early June 2025 on X, when the video surfaced showing Pastor Adefarasin, holding an alleged metallic object while confronting TikToker Car Spotter who was filming his black Range Rover reportedly without license plates in traffic.

The video on X showed Pastor Adefarasin winding down his tinted window, expressing displeasure, while holding an object interpreted by many viewers as a firearm.

While the TikToker quickly apologised as the car drove off, the video quickly however went viral, igniting accusations on social media that the pastor had brandished a gun to intimidate the individual.

Consequently, Pastor Adefarasin addressed the controversy and denied the allegations in a social media statement and also during the Sunday church service when he said, “That was certainly not a firearm, and at no point did I point such at anyone.”

He dismissed the incident as “mischief” and a “misunderstanding” maintaining that he neither owned a firearm license nor carried a gun.

The popular cleric insisted that the backlash was an orchestrated plan by the forces of darkness fueled by ‘click baiters’ seeking profit.
