The Adamawa State Police Command, in collaboration with its critical stakeholders and local security outfits, have killed a kidnapper and arrested a robbery suspect in Ngurore Yola-North and Hong local government area of Adamawa State.
One AK-47 rifle with five live ammunition and a knife used for the operation was recovered.
The police commissioner, Dankombo Morris, told journalists that the command was gearing up to reactivate its internal control mechanism to prevent kidnapping activities and promote decency in the state.
Morris said the command took a bold step by coordinating a raid on one of the kidnapper’s hideouts identified along Ngurore, Yola South local government area.
“The criminals, who were armed with offensive weapons, upon sighting our gallant men, attempted to resist arrest and thereby opened fire to scare our men, but when the fire shots were returned, one of them was down while others escaped,” he said.
He urged more collaboration to chase out the criminals from the state and bring to book the fleeing suspects.
