Police said the coordinated operation was carried out by its operatives of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit, in conjunction with hunters when they raided a suspected kidnappers’ hideout located at the Holma Mountains in Song local government area of the state

On sighting the operatives, the armed criminals opened fire in an attempt to resist arrest.

However, during the ensuing gun duel, one of the kidnappers was neutralised, while others escaped with bullet wounds.

One suspect, identified as Mohammed Sale, was however arrested.
