LEADERSHIP learnt that the father of the victim, Mr. Ibrahim Maikudi, lodged a formal complaint to the ‘C’ Divisional Headquarters of the Bauchi Police Command where he alleged an incident involving criminal conspiracy and unnatural offences targeted at his son.

Maikudi alleged that he had discovered excrement on the trousers of his 12-year-old son, a claim his wife also corroborated.

The minor, in his disclosure also revealed that he had been enticed by three individuals who lured him into their dwelling.

Confirming the incident to LEADESHIP on Tuesday, Spokesperson of Bauchi Police Command, CSP Ahmed Wakil, identified the suspects as 30-year-old Lukman Mohammed, Musa Halilu, 32 years and one Alkasim.

CSP Wakil said in response to the complaint, detectives were dispatched to the location and the victim was referred to a Specialist Hospital in Bauchi for a medical examination.

He disclosed that two suspects, Lukman Mohammed and Musa Halilu, have been apprehended, while the third suspect remained at large.

“Preliminary investigations indicate that an eyewitness, a watchman in proximity to the location, voluntarily informed the police that he had observed one of the suspects, Halilu, pursuing the boy on two separate occasions. The watchman cautioned the boy to maintain a distance from the suspects.

“Shortly thereafter, he witnessed the boy approaching the suspects’ residence, at which point he intervened and reprimanded the boy. Following this incident, the boy’s mother inquired about the reprimand, to which the watchman explained.”

CSP Wakil further explained that the boy subsequently informed his mother that he had been influenced and lured by the suspects into their dwelling, where he was subjected to anal sexual intercourse.

Wakil said the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Bauchi to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure the arrest of the fleeing suspect.
