Police Nab Imo Woman For Stabbing Lover To Death

Operatives of the Imo State Police Command have arrested a 27-year-old lady, Oluchi Nzemechi, of Uzoagba in Ikeduru local government area of the state for allegedly stabbing her partner, Kelechi Nzemechi, to death.

Oluchi allegedly stabbed 31-year-old Kelechi following his refusal to give her part of an internet fraud proceeds secured from an Indian.

Police spokesperson for Imo State, Henry Okoye said following a painstaking investigation, Oluchi admitted to her complicity in the death of her partner, Kelechi, who she had a child for.
According to Oluchi, she had had a heated argument with the deceased Kelechi on Sunday for failing to give her cut out of an alleged 250 million Rupiah they fraudulently obtained from a victim in Indonesia.
During the heated argument, Oluchi said she used a kitchen knife to stab Kelechi in the upper part of his body and wrote a threat note to play innocent.

Oluchi said, “In a bid to cover up my criminal acts, I swiftly wrote on a piece of paper, ‘You think you can eat my money and go free, I am baba for the boys, I am coming for your wife and your child including your family’, and I placed it on his lifeless body and ran away from the house”.

According to her, Kelechi lured her into internet fraud, popularly called “yahoo yahoo”, and that they had been cohabiting as a couple since 2019 and had a child.
Meanwhile, police spokesperson Okoye has said the suspect will be arraigned in court after the investigation concludes.

Okoye said,, “Efforts are intensified to recover the alleged 250 million Indonesian Rupiah for a possible return to the owner. The suspect is currently undergoing an investigation at the state Criminal Investigation Department and will certainly be arraigned in court.”
