Police in Nasarawa State at the weekend paraded 30 suspected criminals who were arrested for various offences including kidnapping, armed robbery and cultism among other crimes across the state.
The command’s spokesman, DSP Ramhan Nansel, told newsmen that 15 suspects were arrested for kidnapping, two for armed robbery, four for cultism while nine were nabbed for other crimes.
Among the suspected kidnappers is one Zakari Umar (alias Dan Wudil) of Mahanga village in Awe local government area of the state who had been on the police watch list.
DSP Nansel said luck ran out on the suspect when he called to threaten a victim to either pay N1.5 million or risk being kidnapped. He said the victim was coerced into paying the money.
He said; “Upon arrest, the suspect led police operatives to a farmland where N750,000 was recovered as exhibit. The suspect has confessed to the crime.”

Also paraded were 21-year-old Timothy James and 19-year-old Simon Oliver, both of Karkashi village in Lafia local government area who were arrested for an armed robbery related case in Lafia.
