Police Nab Notorious Kidnappers In Delta

Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a notorious kidnapper, Chiadiji Collins also known as “Smooth”.

Chiadiji, who has been on the police watchlist was accused of his involvement in a series of kidnapping activities within the Ibusa/Ogwashi-Uku and Asaba axis before his arrest.

Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Delta State Command, SP Edafe Bright who confirmed said the operations followed credible intelligence on the activities of some suspected kidnappers in Ogwashi-Uku, Ubulu-uku and Issele-uku communities.

He said operatives of CP-Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT), on July 27, 2025, at about 1:20am, led by ASP Julius Robinson in a combined effort from the Command’s X-Squad and Buffalo Patrol Teams, stormed the suspected criminal hideout along Ibusa Road and effected the arrest.

Following interrogation, the 42-year-old suspect led operatives to his residence at Ewulu Community in Aniocha South LGA, where a search warrant was executed.

During the search, an AK-47 rifle, 40 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition were recovered.

Edafe said preliminary investigation led to the arrest of one Ezechie Andrew of the same community in whose possession two pump action and two live cartridges were recovered.

The PPRO confirmed this in a statement, saying the suspects are in Police custody as the investigation proceeds.
