A combined team of security forces have killed one of the suspected Lakurawa bandits who invaded Kwagware village in Yeldu district in Arewa local government area of Kebbi State.

Public Relations Officer of the Kebbi Police Command,  CSP Nafiu Abubakar disclosed the development in a statement he issued to journalists in Birnin Kebbi.

CSP Abubakar said during the exchange of gunfire between the policemen and the bandits, the police recovered an unspecified number of cows, GSM handsets and other sophisticated weapons from the bandits.

According to Abubakar,  when the divisional police office in Arewa local government received the news of the invasion of the area by the bandits,  the DPO in the area mobilised a combined team of policemen and local vigilantes,  persuaded the bandits and engaged them in a gun battle, as a result, one suspected Lakurawa bandit was neutralised.

He added that the Commissioner of police,  CP Bello M. Sani while commending the bravery and sacrifices of the combined team of the personnel also urged the personnel to continue to deal with the terrorists in the area and Kebbi State in general.
