The Adamawa State Police Command has reopened a case of acid attack that occurred sometime in 2023, involving three victims, including Miss Eve Usman Kwala.
The Police image maker in the state, SP Suleiman Yahaya, said the revisit of the case is to identify, trace, and thoroughly investigate all persons connected, either directly or indirectly, with the incident.
The matter was brought to the fore following a public outcry demanding justice for the victim.
Yahaya said the command recalls that the unfortunate incident, which left the victims with severe injuries, was reported at the time; however, no suspect was arrested during the initial investigation.
In view of the renewed attention and emotional appeals from affected persons and concerned members of the public, the command said it has resolved to revisit the matter, unmask perpetrator (s) and ensure that justice is served.
He noted that the police would review and reassess the entire case file without delay to gather all human and material evidence through statements earlier recorded and any new material that may assist the investigation.
The command assured of the arrest and diligent prosecution of all perpetrators involved in this heinous act.
The Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris urged members of the public with useful information on the matter to bring them to aid the investigation, adding that any information provided would be treated with the highest confidentiality.
The command noted that it remains committed to upholding justice, safeguarding lives and ensuring that criminal acts of this nature are never swept aside.
