The command’s spokesman, Gambo Isah in a statement he made available to press men on Tuesday, explained that having received a distress call by the command that terrorists in numbers were shooting sporadically with AK 47 rifles after blocking the Danmusa – Yantumaki road, the DPO, Danmusa Division, led a team of Policemen and engaged the hoodlums in a gun duel and repelled them.

“In the course of scanning the scene, one of the terrorists-bandits was neutralized and his dead body recovered. Additionally, one 47 rifle with 22 rounds of 7.62mm live ammunition was also recovered at the scene.

“Many of the terrorists were reasonably believed to have been neutralized and/or escaped the scene with gunshot wounds.  Search parties are combing the nearest bushes with a view of arresting them or recovering their dead bodies”, he said

Isah added that the command is appealing to members of the communities around the area to report to the nearest police station any person found or seen with a suspected injury.
