Sixteen out of the 18 passengers travelling on the Edo line bus kidnapped on Friday have been rescued.
The eighteen passengers were on Friday kidnapped in the newly floated Edo line transport service.
The victims said to be Abuja-bound passengers were forced into the bush by the daredevil kidnappers before men of Nigerian Police Force came.
A viral video from the scene of the incident showed long queues of vehicles parked on both sides of the expressway.
When contacted, Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Moses Iyamu, confirmed that 16 of the victims have been rescued so far.
He noted that police have intensified the search and rescue operation in collaboration with local vigilantes and hunters to ensure the release of the other passengers in the kidnapper’s den.
