Police Rescue 2 Kidnap Victims, Kill 1 Kidnapper In Kebbi

A combined team of security agents has rescued two kidnap victims, killed one kidnapper, and arrested another, after gun battle in Kwari Village, Giron-masa district in Shanga local government area of Kebbi State.

The incident occurred midnight on Monday according to the statement by the spokesman of Kebbi State Police Command, CSP Nafiu Abubakar.

CSP Abubakar added that victims were rescued unhurt after the security forces overpowered the kidnappers during the fight which forced them to abandon the victims and flee into the forest with gunshot wound.

According to him, one dane gun and three rounds of 7.62×39mm live ammunitions were recovered from the kidnappers by security forces.

In a related development, another security personnel has killed one kidnapper in Mungadi district under Maiyama local government area in Kebbi State.

The incident happened when the kidnappers stormed the residence of one Alhaji Sani of Botoro Gadi Village in Mungadi district in Maiyama local government and kidnapped two persons, male and female, Muhafi A Sani 28 and Shamsiya Aliyu 30.

Abubakar said that the commissioner of police, CP Bello M Sani has commended the efforts of the combined team for the successful operation in the area.
