According to the Command’s spokesperson, DSP Mansir Hassan, in a statement released Sunday night, during the encounter, security forces unleashed superior firepower on the enemies forcing them to retreat and flee into the forest with gunshot wounds, a development that led to the rescue of 23 kidnap victims, who had earlier been reported kidnapped in Kauru LGA.

The victims have been safely reunited with their families, the Police spokesperson further disclosed.
